The fee for a 50 min consultation is $250. (This compares with the APS recommended fee for a 50 min consultation of $300). Fees are paid in full on the day of consultation and can be paid by cash, EFTPOS or credit.

For your convenience, Medicare Easyclaim and HICAPS facilities are available to claim rebates on site. Claims are usually processed within 1-2 business days.

In order to claim medicare rebates, you need to consult your General Practitioner (GP) and obtain a referral (known as a Mental Health Treatment Plan) prior to the session. It is often helpful to book a long appointment when you consult your GP. You can bring the treatment plan and referral letter with you on your first consultation, or alternatively ask your GP to fax the referral prior to your first appointment. 

Medicare Australia will pay rebates for up to 10 sessions in a calendar year with a review after 6 sessions. We ask that sessions are paid for in full, so that fees paid accrue towards your safety net. Your rebate will then be processed on site. Medicare rebates range between $93.05 and $137.05 for a 50 min consult You will receive a larger rebate once you hit the safety net threshold.

Private Health / Self Funding

You do not need a referral or Mental Health Care Plan to see a Psychologist if you choose to self-fund or use Private Health insurance. Please check with your individual health fund regarding the rebate you will receive. Some Private Health funds will pay a larger rebate than Medicare do. Please note that you are not able to claim on both Medicare and Private Health.
